Hier findet ihr eine regelmäßig aktualisierte Liste über die System-Updates sowie Downloads und Classic Games für Nintendo Wii.
Aktuelle Wii-Software-Version: 3.1E
Die letzte Aktualisierung brachte die Unterstützung von USB-Tastaturen für den Internet Channel und den Meinungs Channel — allerdings nicht konsequent zu Ende gedacht. So muss man nach der Eingabe einer URL per Tastatur trotzdem noch per WiiRemote bestätigen.
Der Download einer neuen Version dauert in der Regel etwa 1 bis 2 Minuten (ausgehend von einer normalen DSL-Internetverbindung).
Wii Opera Browser: erschienen am 12.4.07 (über Shop downloadbar, voriges System-Update nötig). Wurde mittlerweile stark verbessert, so lassen sich mehr Favoriten anlegen.
Wetter-Channel: erschienen (man kann seine Stadt eingeben bzw. bis zu einem drehenden Globus wegzoomen). Es gibt eine 5-Tage-Voraussicht, die Anzeige der UV-Belastung (im Winter eher uninteressant) und natürlich die Möglichkeit, seine Heimatstadt festzulegen.
News-Channel: erschienen am 26. Januar 2007. Die Wii holt sich via WiiConnect24 ungefähr einmal pro Stunde einen News-Feed von Associated Press (AP) und teilt diesen in Inland, Kontinental (=Europa), Weltweit sowie einige weitere Punkte (z.B. Sport) auf. Diese liest man recht komfortabel inklusive Rein- und Rauszoomen. Der Gag: Sofern eine Ortsangabe mit der Meldung verbunden ist (oft ist das allerdings einfach die Hauptstadt des jeweiligen Landes), wird diese auf dem vom Wetter-Kanal bekannten Globus angezeigt. Wer will, wählt auch von vornherein die Globussicht, dann sieht man anhand eines oder auch mehrerer gestapelter News-Icons bei den jeweiligen Städten, wo es aktuelle Meldungen gibt.
Meinungs-Channel: erschienen am 14. Februar 2007. Man kann bis zu sechs Miis für die Umfragen anmelden und sieht dann jeweils drei Fragen nach dem Ja-oder-Nein-Prinzip. Nun wirft man seinen Mii auf die entsprechende Seite der Abstimmungsscheibe und wartet bis zu sieben Tage, um zu sehen, wie die restlichen User abgestimmt haben. Auf das Ergebnis darf man auch tippen. Außerdem möglich: Via Internet und Wii eine eigene Frage einsenden. Nett ist, dass man auch internationale Fragen aufrufen kann oder die Ergebnisse nach (Bundes-) Ländern aufgeschlüsselt bekommt.
Mii Wettkampf-Channel: erschienen am 12. November 2007. Im Tournament-Channel kann man einerseits Mii passend zu vorgegebenen Aussagen designen und einsenden (die erste war: Macht Mario ohne seine berühmte Klempner-Schirmmütze), andererseits die Mii wildfremder Leute vorbeimaschieren lassen (ähnlich wie im Mii Channel, nur geht es da nur mit den Mii eigens freigeschalteter Bekannter). Und das etwa nach dem Zufalls- oder Top-50-Prinzip, in Deutschland oder weltweit. Da marschieren dann Ali G., Darth Vader, Michael Jackson, Charlie Brown oder Miss Piggy über den Bildschirm. Miis, die einem gefallen, kann man sich dann auf die eigene Konsole holen, ebenso kann man die eigenen Miis für andere freischalten.

Wii Virtual Console Games: aktuell 149 Spiele
Die folgenden Spiele können auf der Wii mittels Wii-Shop kostenpflichtig downgeloadet und dann zumeist mit dem Wii Controller, besser aber mit einen GameCube- oder dem Classic Controller, gespielt werden. Seit dem Release der Wii am 8.12.2006 schaltet Nintendo Deutschland zumeist Donnerstags neue Inhalte frei.
Anmerkung: Turbografx hieß die vom Namen her bekanntere PC-Engine in USA und damit Europa. Eine leicht verbesserte Version des Videospielsystems gab es in USA unter dem Namen Supergrafx. Mittlerweile ist auch die erste Emulation für das NEOGEO erschienen, Fatal Fury: King of Fighters.
